The
corporate origins of Personification date
to October 1997 when its founder, John Male, created a technology roadmap
outlining a new paradigm for auditory information access.
Corporate
milestones include:
- May 1998

Incorporation
of Personification Inc.
- Summer
1998

A program of intense,
fundamental research into core technologies is carried out. These
technologies include: text clustering, HTML/XML parsing, and the development
of a channel markup language.
- August
1998

Personification
moves in to a larger office at 151 Bloor St. West, in the Yorkville
district of downtown Toronto.
- August
1998

Personification
begins work on a proof of concept demonstration of the text categorization
and channel markup procedure using online press releases for content
material.
- Autumn
1998

Personification
completes work on improved HTML parsing technology, with the assistance
of the Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) funding from
the National Research Council of Canada.
- December
1998

Personification
begins work to develop a system for presenting targeted information
through an auditory interface, as part of the Telecommunications Access
Partnerships (TAP) program funded by the government of Ontario.
- April
2000

Itemus inc. invests
in Personification Inc.
- August
2000

In order to accommodate
its rapid growth, Personification acquires additional
space in a new location at 80 Bloor St. W, on the north west corner of Bay
and Bloor Street.
- May 2003

Personification's software technology is acquired by 483330 Ontario Inc.
This rationalizes Personification's large financial investment,
and allows for future growth and sales potential through additional future investment.
483330 Ontario Inc. plans to raise additional funds for market expansion,
product development, and distribution.
